Border Security Force (BSF) troopers foiled an intrusion bid by five from the Pakistani side and killed one intruder in Ferozepur while the rest fled back on Sunday evening. The BSF is on high alert along Punjab’s 553-km long international border with Pakistan since last year. “BSF men challenged the intruders to stop, which went in vain. Deputy inspector general BSF RK Thapa acknowledged the killing of Pak intruder who seemed to be around 22-year-old. One of the intruders fired gunshots at BSF and in retaliation, BSF men opened fire, during which an intruder died while rest escaped by running back, taking benefit of the bushes,” said official sources.
