LONDON - An intriguing women's 1,500 metres and the difficult men's 110m hurdles stand out when four gold medals are up for grabs on Monday at the world athletics championships. Half a dozen athletes have the class to win the 1,500m - ranging from title holder and world record holder Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia, Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon and Dutch season leader Sifan Hassan to local hope Laura Muir and Caster Semenya of South Africa, the 800m world and Olympic champion. The men's hurdles feature title holder Sergey Shubenkov, one of 19 Russians granted entry to London as neutral athletes. Shubenkov is second in the season list behind Jamaican Olympic champion Omar McLeod. The other medal events are the women's hammer throw where Poland's world and Olympic champion Anita Wlodarczyk is the big favourite; and the women's triple jump where Colombian Olympic champion Caterine Ibarguen seeks a third straight worlds gold.
