Ever since the locals were made aware of Dipa Karmakar's stellar performance at Rio Olympics, she and her coach Bisheswar Nandi cannot move around the city without being mobbed. As the visuals also showed, after executing the Produnova and the Tsukahara vaults, I immediately went and hugged my coach. But to some extent, I would like to give credit to 2014 CWG for my Rio performance. It's been a long stretch from July last year to Rio Olympics. As far as shelf life is concerned, I believe Dipa will be a strong contender even for the 2024 Olympics.
