more-inState Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Saturday said party workers may take to the streets if upcoming Bollywood film Indu Sarkar, set during the Emergency, is found to malign its leaders. “We have sought Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s intervention in the release of the film as there is talk that history has been distorted. The film is based on the lives of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi,” Mr. Vikhe-Patil, who is Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, said. Indu Sarkar, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, is scheduled for release on July 28. City Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam had written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently, and had demanded a screening for party leaders.
