Some UK supermarkets banned the sale of New Zealand lamb last year, following intense lobbying from their local industry. The wholesale price of UK lamb dropped to £2.36 (NZ$6.39) per kilo, while NZ's lamb had risen to £3.82 (NZ$7.26). In The United States, wholesale supermarket Sam's Club's whole boneless lamb legs were going for US$14 (NZ$19.30) per kilogram.
