Thirty-one people were today arrested here as the police claimed to have busted a betting racket, which was allegedly being operated from Dubai and had the "support" of local policemen. The racket was being run from a house in Atta area in Sector 20 of Noida, a senior police officer said. The policemen suspended include the Atta police station in-charge Dharmendra Sharma and constable Mahendra, the SSP said, adding a departmental inquiry has been launched. Betting slips and around Rs one lakh were seized from the house this evening and allegedly the racket was being operated from Dubai, he said.
