A former Howick Intermediate School teacher has been censured for serious misconduct. A teacher has been censured for serious misconduct and has to provide updates on rehabilitative steps after she was found drinking alcohol at work. When confronted, the former Howick Intermediate School teacher, Toni Osborne, attempted to dispose of the alcohol. She again denied drinking, but when Franke "detected a distinct smell of alcohol" from the bottle, she admitted there could have been alcohol in it over the weekend. The tribunal censured Osborne, imposed conditions on her practising certificate to provide the Teaching Council with updates on rehabilitative steps every three months for one year, and to disclose the decision to employers for two years.
