The departments of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and of Energy (DoE) have partnered to speed up the implementation of energy projects in the country. Local governments must also monitor and collect the benefits of energy projects and integrate these in their comprehensive development plans. These plans should also include local energy policies, plans and programs covering energy safety and best practices, energy efficiency and conservation, and energy resiliency. The Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 intends to accelerate all infrastructure development projects, including those in the energy sector. To fast-track the development of power plants, President Rodrigo Duterte issued Executive Order 30 to streamline regulatory procedures for power projects classified as energy projects of national significance.
