Intelligence from integrity units helps MACC record 65 arrests last year


PUTRAJAYA (March 31): Strategic intelligence channelled by officers in integrity units (UI) and Integrity and governance units (IGU) within government agencies has helped the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) record 65 arrests and 379 charges involving corruption cases in 2025. He said the MACC would continue to strengthen its enforcement role in combating corruption through the channelling of strategic intelligence by officers placed in UIs in public agencies, as well as IGUs. “As of March 31, 2026, 100 MACC officers are stationed in UIs and IGUs, comprising 92 officers in UIs of public agencies and eight officers in IGUs of government-linked companies (GLCs). Earlier, Azmi chaired the MACC senior management meeting with officers seconded to external agencies. The meeting also included an engagement session between MACC officers in external agencies and BPIA director Lim Bee Kean, as well as representatives from the Public Sector Integrity Investigation Division (CBA).
