If Intel Corp. really lost Mellanox Technologies to Nvidia, there might be a decent consolation prize in the offing. Several news outlets said Intel also was competing for the Israeli chip company’s hand. But Nvidia ended up landing the deal, announcing the $6.9 billion acquisition on Monday morning. Intel’s share price rose as well, though, by nearly 2%. Intel wouldn’t comment on the deal.
