A congressman is asking the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to set up a “one-stop shop” information website on the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). The website will contain all issuances, updates, notices, advisories, instructions and other relevant information coming from all government agencies. Herrera said data from the Department of Health, directives of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases and reports of President Rodrigo Duterte must also be included. The DICT will manage the website and identify the most useful data, and vet them against the surplus of Covid-19 information on the internet. “Apart from disinformation and spread of fake news, there is actually too much information coming from too many sources,” the lawmaker said.
