Intact Cool Smashers eye more PVL crownsBy The Manila Timeshome/Sports/Top Sports/Intact Cool Smashers eye more PVL crownsAs Creamline prepares to build up on its two-conference sweep of the just-concluded Premier Volleyball League season, its rivals are bracing for a post Tai Bundit era to halt what many see as an emerging dynasty in local women’s volley loop. The Cool Smashers gave Bundit a fitting farewell gift with a sweep of the Ateneo-Motolite Lady Eagles in the Open Conference, matching their equally convincing triumph over the PayMaya side in the Reinforced Conference last July. On their way to their second PVL championship, the Cool Smashers actually stumbled right on their first game, dropping a five-setter to the PetroGazz Angels. They topped the double round elims and re-asserted their might over the Angels in the Final Four. With an intact roster, experts believe whoever would take over at the Creamline coaching helm next year will have half of the championship puzzle solved.
