Share TweetBy Merlina Hernando-MalipotVarious international education and teachers’ organizations expressed concern on the alleged “profiling” of the members and “recorded incidents of harassment” on leaders of a teachers group in the Philippines. In a letter addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte, EI expressed concern on the alleged profiling of ACT members. “Our more than two decades of affiliation and work with EI is a testament to the legitimacy of ACT as a union,” said ACT Secretary General Raymond Basilio. Since then, various international organizations and unions have also come forward and wrote to Duterte to call for the “immediate end” to the profiling of ACT members.
