Insurers urged to launch standardised health products amid COVID-19


AdvertisingAdvertisingMr. Khuntia pointed out that the availability of multiple health insurance products often confuses the public and they don’t have enough time to choose the right product. “A standardised product is like a fixed deposit offered by banks, which everyone is aware about when compared to a specialised saving products. The standardised product would not affect the revenue of insurers, but would enhance it,” Mr. Khuntia said. Mr. Khuntia said so far, 70,000 COVID-19 related health insurance claims have been settled for about ₹700 crore and many more claims are coming in. Mr. Khuntia also called for the launch of disease-specific policies and also for combining wellness with health insurance.
