Instagram is set to axe 250 staff in London just months after its parent firm Meta moved executives to the capital. The Covent Garden office is expected to be shuttered as Mark Zuckerberg’s firm continues to sack thousands of employees. It came amid reports Meta plans to slash over 10 per cent of its UK workforce – at least 687 from around 5,000 employees. Job cuts: Instagram employs around 4,000 people in the UK, with offices in London's Covent Garden and Kings CrossOther positions are also thought to be at risk of redundancy, according to the Financial Times. Instagram boss Adam Mosseri moved to London last year to drive growth in the face of competition from TikTok but he is now reportedly heading back to the US along with other staff who have dodged job cuts.
