McDonald's is everywhere, a familiar sight all will recognise, but in Downey, California, is a sight a little different from what we Brits - and indeed the world - are used to... The world's oldest McDonald's isn't like the others and even comes with its own hidden menu item. Its original décor from 1953 still remains and is even complete with the brand's original mascot, Speedee. However, the California joint, in southeast Los Angeles has still come some way since its creation 70 years ago. While the rest of the franchise's restaurants have baked apple pies, this one still opts for the deep-fried approach.
