Inside the tent and other Christmas trialsCole Yeoman There can be a hard gap between the romance of sleeping under canvas and the reality. Christmas is a short break until New Years, with the big summer holiday happening in July-August. Thanks to the kindness of strangers when I first arrived in the Bloatopolis, I have a small tent. The sleeping bags and cookware went to opshops; I retained the tent and a chillybin-fridge for my trouble. However, gift tent snaffled, I visited the regional parks website and was stunned to find a spare campsite (tents only) the week before Christmas.
