Reporters from The Wall Street Journal went on a tightly controlled trip to Pyongyang in September, amid rising tensions between the U.S. and North Korea. Although the secretive nation’s model capital doesn’t represent life in the country as a whole, it offers a glimpse at North Korea’s nuclear ambitions and aspirations to develop its economy despite international sanctions and relative isolation.
