Inside Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds' £20,000-a-week Caribbean holiday villa

But before he gets started, he's having a break at a £20,000-a-week Caribbean villa to mark his thumping election victory. The Sun newspaper has found the luxury resort on the island of Mustique where the Prime Minister and his girlfriend, the environmental campaigner Carrie Symonds, are seeing in the New Year. The Moroccan-style stone villa has six double bedrooms, three private swimming pools, two bars, a library and four dedicated staff - a butler, chef, gardener and housekeeper. Millionaire Tory leader Mr Johnson will also enjoy three ornamental ponds, a gazebo and three 4x4s to explore the 1,400-acre private island - a haunt of celebs and the royal family. Bought for £45,000 in 1958 by the aristocrat Lord Glenconner, it was turned into a self-described "private island hideaway for the rich and famous" after he bought Princess Margaret a plot in 1960.
