Benue State Government and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the state have been exchanging words over the recent insecurity situation in the state. The PDP through its publicity secretary, Bemgba Iortyom accused the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia of keeping mute over the activities of terrorists, adding that he is aiding and abetting crimes in the state. Iortyom said, “Over 24 hours after reports emerged that suspected Fulani herdsmen laid siege on the Makurdi – Naka Road and killed scores of travelers, Governor Alia, is yet to react to the incident. In a swift response, the Security Adviser to the governor, Joseph Har berated the opposition party for creating falsehood over the Benue Links attacks. Har, who advised the opposition to criticise constructively, reiterated the stand of Alia to deal ruthlessly with criminals in the state.
