It was exciting news, but then she mentioned how agonizing it was to get a mortgage while self-employed. But with more people becoming freelancers, it’s increasingly hard to ignore how dated our safety net and systems are. FreshBooks, an accounting platform for the self-employed, is trying to hasten some change with a new contest, run in collaboration with Fidelity Labs, called the Reshape the World Challenge. Fidelity Labs is Fidelity Investments’ innovation group. The deadline for the contest is May 25, 2018; winners will be announced on June 8, 2018.
