An injured mountain biker has been winched through the trees and into a helicopter after crashing on a Signal Hill track this afternoon. A St John spokeswoman said an ambulance, along with police and a fire crew, were called to a North Dunedin mountain bike track at 12.18pm. One person was flown to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries, she said. The helicopter was called after St John had difficulty getting to the person. A videographer at the scene captured the mountain biker being loaded on to a stretcher and winched up to a helicopter through the pine trees.
