An injunction that calls for Indigenous demonstrators to leave a residential development just outside Caledonia, Ont. Demonstrators stopped the McKenzie Meadows development on July 19 and have been occupying the site since, renaming it 1492 Land Back Lane. The OPP raided the development under the first injunction, arresting several demonstrators. Demonstrators who began blocking roads near Caledonia, Ont., on Aug. 5 began to remove the barricades on Aug. 20. The Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council has also voiced its support for the demonstrators, saying it believes the development is "unlawful."
