Infosys reports 1.4% involuntary attrition in Q2


BENGALURU: Infosys , India's second largest IT services company, reported nearly 1.4% involuntary attrition for the July-September period. The company has called out involuntary attrition for the second consecutive quarter as it is seeing a steady decline in its core or traditional software maintenance business.Infosys has brought down the overall attrition rate to 21.7% from a significantly higher rate of 23.4% last quarter. Its larger rival TCS reported 11.6% attrition during the second quarter. Analysts widely said IT employees those who are not reskilling themselves may lose their jobs as certain roles are becoming obsolete. (Of this) 6000 trainees joined in India and 700-800 trainees joined globally," said Rao at the press conference to announce Q2 results today.
