Infosys may report 5% fall in Q1 net, to retain revenue guidance


IT major Infosys is likely to report muted numbers on Friday for the first quarter ended June 30, 2017. Infosys shares settled 0.26 per cent higher at Rs 976.30 on Thursday.Brokerage Motilal Oswal believes Infosys may post 4.5 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) fall in net profit at Rs 3,438 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017, against Rs 3,603 crore reported for the sequential quarter ended March 31, 2016. The company may post 0.43 per cent QoQ drop in revenue at Rs 17,654 crore.EPS for the quarter is seen at Rs 15 against Rs 15.80 as of March 31.Kotak Institutional Equities sees 5.40 per cent, 4 per cent and 0.70 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) fall in adjusted net profit, Ebitda and revenues for the quarter.There may be some pressure on EBIT margin due to a strengthening rupee and visa costs.Kotak expects Infosys to retain revenue growth guidance at 6.5-8.5 per cent. Tata Consultancy Services on Thursday posted 10 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) fall in June quarter net profit at Rs 5,950 crore, which was substantially below the Rs 6,203.50 crore profit estimate projected by analysts in an ETNow poll. This is the biggest drop in quarterly profit in two years.
