Influencer claims trial to assault on disabled person

PETALING JAYA: A social media influencer pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court here to a charge of hitting a fast food restaurant worker. Nalinee Kothandabani (pic), 41, who works as a IT engineer, was accused of intentionally causing hurt to Rani Arumugam, 45, by hitting the victim, who is also a disabled person, at the restaurant in Serdang Raya, Seri Kembangan. However, Nalinee’s lawyer Dinesh Muthal sought RM500 bail on the grounds that his client is the sole breadwinner of her family. On Dec 18, it was reported that the police had called in a female suspect to assist in the investigation into an assault of a disabled woman at a fast food restaurant in Serdang Jaya. The assault was said to be linked to a dissatisfaction over business-related matters on TikTok.
