Inflation ticks up to 3.2pc in December

Photo: PAAnnual inflation in Ireland went on the rise again in December, ticking up to 3.2pc, according to a flash estimate. Prices rose 0.4pc between November and December, when measured using the EU’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices. Core inflation, which excludes unprocessed food and energy costs, increased by 4.3pc since December 2022, well ahead of headline inflation. French inflation also inched higher in December on the back of higher services prices and energy costs, as the government pared back supports for households.
