The Rohingya newborn who received severe burn injuries during Myanmar army’s arson attack succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Friday. Born on August 21, the infant named Saiful Arman was being treated at the Burn & Plastic Surgery Unit at CMCH since September 14. Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed S Khaled of the Burn & Plastic Surgery Unit said the newborn could have survived if the infection did not spread all over his body. The infant suffered burns on 10% on his body; in the back, waist and hands, according to the doctors.
