Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Kazi M Aminul Islam said the government is going to introduce industrial corridor with a view to stopping unplanned industrialisation. He was addressing an inter-ministerial discussion meeting as the chair for formulating draft rules of industrial corridor. BIDA primarily discussed industrial corridor rules at BIDA’s first board meeting last November. Primarily, the investment development authority has planned to develop industrial corridor at the roadsides from Dhaka to Payra Seaport and Benapole Land Port, according to sources.
