Indie booksellers thriving during pandemic thanks to new ways of connecting with customers


According to BookNet Canada, sales in Canada's English-language retail book market were down 24 per cent between March and May. But with the fall came a flood of new titles while booksellers across Canada are finding new ways to connect with customers. Bookmanager software system founder Michael Neill says stores rushed to enable online sales when pandemic restrictions set in. Knowledge Bookstore owner Sean Liburd says he and his wife have seen a new wave of customers online, following the Black Lives Matter protests.
