Indian ship with relief for Rohingyas to reach Chittagong Thursday

The High Commission of India in Dhaka said High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla will receive the relief at Chittagong on Thursday morning. This would be the third consignment of relief materials India has sent to Bangladesh for the half a million Rohingya refugees who have taken shelter in Cox’s Bazar fleeing violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. India earlier said it would provide relief to at least 300,000 newly arrived Rohingyas. The ship is carrying nearly 700 tonnes of relief materials such as rice, pulses, sugar, salt, cooking oil, ready to eat noodles, tea, biscuits, and mosquito nets. Earlier, India sent over 100 tonnes of relief materials in two consignments.
