Indian-registered LPG tanker transiting Strait of Hormuz, two more expected to follow

An LPG tanker, the Green Sanvi, is currently transiting the Strait of Hormuz on its way to India as the country grapples with tightening energy supplies amid the Middle East conflict. “India remains highly exposed to LPG supply amid the Strait of Hormuz blockade” by Iran, Ritolia adds. Normally, some 30 per cent of the world’s LPG supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Another ship, the Sea Bird, unloaded Iranian LPG at Mangalore port a few days ago. The Indian vessels transiting the strait are displaying signs saying “India Ship India Crew” to reduce chances of Iranian attack.
