NewsAn Indian national who was trying to smuggle two gold biscuits weighing 2.5 kilograms and several items of gold jewellery was apprehended by Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today (3). The seized gold is estimated to be worth over Rs.16 million. The suspect, who had arrived from Chennai via Dubai, had been trying to exit the airport through the Customs 'Green Channel' when he was stopped and searched.
