Photo: BSSDHAKA, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested an Indian national along with diamonds and foreign currencies worth over Taka 6.62 crore during a special drive in Jashore. During the operation, they detained Sujauddin (52) and recovered 155.76 grams of diamonds, estimated to be worth Taka 6,61,39,590. In addition to the diamonds, BGB seized Taka 5,530 in Bangladeshi currency, INR 5,880, USD 550, 200 Thai Baht, a mobile phone, and a digital watch from his possession. The recovered diamonds were initially verified as genuine by a representative of a local jewelry shop in the presence of law enforcement officials. The seized diamonds and foreign currencies were deposited in the government treasury.
