The Indian government is planning to construct AI-based warehouses to mitigate onion wastage. Through the implementation of AI-based warehouses, the government hopes to reduce total wastage by approximately 5%. The consumer affairs department and NCCF have yet to respond to inquiries on the government's AI-based onion storage facility plan. During the pilot phase, around 100 AI-based storage facilities are expected to be established in onion-growing states. This is not the first attempt by the government to reduce onion wastage in warehouses.
