Ratnam, a 20-year-old Indian gaur, was severely injured in the fight with the younger gaur, Vijay. Animal keepers intervened to shift the injured gaur to the zoo hospital, where the doctors treated the animal. This is not the first time a gaur has been killed by another animal at the zoo. In August 2011, Mani, a 20-year-old gaur, was killed by Vijay, who was six years old then.
