India’s economic growth accelerated to 7.3% in the three months through September from a provisional 7.1% expansion in the previous quarter, government data showed on Wednesday. The impact of the demonetization exercise announced on November 8, was not felt in this quarter though the growth data for the third quarter is expected to take a significant hit. “The hit will be felt in the growth numbers of the third quarter,” DK Joshi, chief economist, Crisil told Hindustan Times. Analysts said that the growth rate would depend on how fast the demonetised money is replenished.
