FO Spokesman Dr Faisal said that there was something in the shoe of Jadhav’s wife, which is being investigated. Authorities were ascertaining whether the metallic object in the shoe was a camera or a recording chip, added the FO. Dr Faisal was responding to Indian allegations that during the meeting the “cultural and religious sensibilities of family members [Jadhav’s mother and wife] were disregarded under the pretext of security precautions”. The mother and wife of convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav visited Pakistan on Monday and met the arrested Indian spy at the FO in Islamabad amid strict security. Pakistan’s reply came after criticism from the Indian government which claimed that cultural and religious sensibilities were disregarded due to security.
