Morocco and India’s technology giant Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) signed over the weekend an agreement on an investment project meant to boost technology cooperation. In a joint communique released following the signing ceremony Saturday in Noida, India, the two partners indicated that the agreement underlines HCL’s determination to invest in Morocco in the outsourcing sector. This memorandum of understanding marks an important strategic choice for the Indian market, which represents more than 52% of the global IT outsourcing market. The Moroccan Ministry of Industry announced recently plans to invest $5 million in the outsourcing sector. Recent data shows that the number of employees in the outsourcing sector in Morocco stands at 120,000 with a turnover of $1.3 billion in 2021.
