IHCL had asked for its licence to be renewed by the council as it held that it was a partner in the hotel.A spokesperson for the hotel company said that the "Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) will vigorously protect its interests in the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi and will pursue all legal options. ""We have today filed an appeal in the Delhi High Court against the order of the Ld. Single Judge, seeking intervention of the Division Bench in this matter. The Taj Mahal Hotel on Mansingh Road is an iconic hotel that has served the city of Delhi for more than 35 years. We are committed to our guests, employees and partners and remain invested in the future of the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi," the spokesperson said.IHCL has maintained that in 1978, it had completed the pending construction of the building and paid for the cost of constructing the property.
