Militarily, as per Global Firepower Index, India ranks 4th out of 145 countries, behind only the US, Russia and China. As per various sources, the world population is projected to increase to around 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100, and India’s population to about 1.67 billion. As per the Forbes World Billionaire’s List 2024, India has added 31 new billionaires in the last one year and 34 since 2022 (Indian Express, 2024).
