Indian Army saves three stranded on island due to heavy rains in Nashik


Three people stranded on an island in Kadva river due to heavy downpour at Kundewadi village in Niphad taluka of Nashik district were rescued by the army on Tuesday. “As soon as the alert was received, a flood relief column of Indian Army located at Devlali was launched immediately, which reached the location at around 9.30pm. The same boat was then moved forward with help of ropes to second island and those stranded were rescued and brought to the river bank. Nashik received heavy rainfall last week, resulting in a rise in water level in all rivers and nullahs. Initial reconnaissance, co-ordination with civil administration and locals was carried out and a rescue team was formed, which involved people from the army and civil administration.
