India beat Sri Lanka by nine wickets in the opening One-day International of the five-match series in Dambulla on Sunday. Opting to field, India bundled out Sri Lanka for 216, and then chased down the target of 217 with as many as 127 balls to spare. Shikhar Dhawan scored 132 off 90 balls while Virat Kohli made 82 off just 70 balls. They never looked at any discomfort during their stay at the crease together, and indeed Sri Lanka did not look like breaking this partnership either. After the openers' dismissal, Sri Lanka went on a self destruction mode to be all out in 44th over from a solid 139 for one.
