India to be third largest ad market in Asia Pacific in five years: report


New Delhi: India is all set to become the third largest advertising market across Asia Pacific region, after China and Japan to touch $17.1 billion by 2022 from the current $9.2 billion in 2017, according to a report ‘Asia Pacific Advertising Trends’ published by global media research and consulting firm Media Partners Asia. India will replace Australia which is projected to touch $13.2 billion by 2022 from $11.8 billion in 2017, according to the report. These 14 markets include Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. “Consumers are spending more time on mobile, social and online video platforms, driving demand for Internet advertising. In 2016, Internet ad revenue across Asia Pacific rose 20.8% to reach $66 billion.
