The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs will move a cabinet note to construct seven integrated check posts (ICPs) along the border with Bangladesh to boost trade and business. India has planned to construct 13 such check posts of which seven will be along the border. The ICPs planned along the border with Bangladesh are at Changrabandha, Hili, Mahadipur, Ghojadanga and Fulbari in West Bengal, Sutarkandi in Assam and Kawripuichhuah in Mizoram. Two ICPs with Bangladesh border including Petrapole in West Bengal and Akhaura in Tripura are already functional. A separate body — the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) — was constituted in 2011 to boost trade via the land border points.
