External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on Saturday that although although global shocks have tested India’s resilience in recent years, the country has emerged solidly through those challenges. “No one can dispute the multiple global shocks that have recently tested our resilience and that India has come through that solidly. Mr. Jaishankar added that more inclusive growth, representative politics and decisive leadership had created a new foundation from which the country could now harbour higher aspirations. “Building national capabilities has become more critical in the light of the global trends that I have mentioned. You would note that even in the developed world, the earlier mantras of globalisation have now given way to a new awareness about self-reliance,” said Mr. Jaishankar.
