India commits itself to universal and sustainable social security system


NEW DELHI: India, on Thursday, committed itself to universal and sustainable social security system, improved governance in all its future endeavour and imparting skills for development of all BRICS nation at the BRICS Labour & Employment Ministers' meet which concluded on Thursday. According to the statement, the focus areas of the declaration included "governance in the future of work", "skills for development in BRICS", "universal and sustainable social security systems", "BRICS network of labour research institutions", "BRICS social security cooperation framework" and "BRICS entrepreneurship research". Top-level Indian team was represented by the labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya at the labour minsiters' meet in China. China is the chair for the BRICS Labour & Employment Ministers' Meet for the year 2017. The BRICS labour and employment ministerial declaration would now be presented to the leaders/Head of the State summit scheduled to be held this year in Xiamen, China.
