India’s firm anti-Rohingya policy has triggered reverse migration with several Rohingyas, slowly moving to Bangladesh. The Border Security Forces (BSF) officials said at least 50 Rohingyas, who had been living in India for years, crossed over to Bangladesh over the past few weeks. These Rohingyas had been working in India as domestic help, construction labours and shopkeepers, reports the Economic Times. According to a rough estimate, at least 40,000 Rohingya have been living in India for years. Central agencies monitoring the movement of Rohingyas have observed that reverse migration has started, albeit in small groups.
