NEW DELHI—The Indian government has agreed to sell its entire stake in Air India, making it more attractive to potential buyers in a bid to raise money to bolster the economy and end its exposure to the money-losing airline. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government announced plans to sell a 76% stake in the South Asian nation’s flagship carrier two years ago but couldn't find a buyer—partly because the government wanted to continue to be a shareholder.
