India, Kazak troops hold counter-terror exercise


After LAC face-off, India & China to hold joint exercise Notwithstanding frequent troop face-offs along the Line of Actual Control, including the recent one at Burtse in Ladakh, India and China are now all set to conduct another bilateral “Hand-in-Hand” (HiH) military exercise as a confidence-building measure between the world’s largest and second-largest armies. "The 14-day exercise will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will be to familiarize with each other's tactics, drills, weapons and equipment. In the second stage, troops from the two armies will graduate to jointly execute a helicopter-borne operation in a simulated environment. Combat battle drills and physical fitness will be the focal point of the exercise," said an officer.After Uzbekistan, India has forged ties with Kazakhstan in the fields of military exercises, training, jungle warfare, information technology and counter-terrorism as well as joint research and development of naval armaments and torpedoes.
